CASE CLOSED (Finishing our CSI case)

Today we solved the crime on who stole our HDMI cable and 18 milky ways!
Who-We asked Mrs  Taffee to come in to class so that we could show her the final evidence, After we had finished she asked if she could admit to something that she did, we told her she could so she told us the whole story on how she got in and she explained everything that happened that day to us.
What-Mrs Taffee told us that she only meant to borrow the HDMI cable because she had been having some trouble with her chrome casting but when she walked in to Whetu she saw some milky way chocolates and she decided to take a few because she thought that no one would know because it was the school holidays but she ended up braking a few things so she tried to run out of the door but it wouldn't open so she ended up braking the window and cutting her right wrist on the door frame, she ran straight out of Whetu and all the way to the office before stopping at the bushes by the Mapson maze to check if the door closed.
Where-The crime happened at Ngatea Primary school in our class team Whetu.
When-From what we know the crime happened on the 10th of October, it was a Saturday and the crime happened from times between 12:00 all the way to 12:58.
Why-Mrs Taffee says that she didn't mean to brake anything or steal any milky ways at all and that she only went in there to borrow our HDMI cord but I'm not sure if she was telling the truth.
How-We formed a number of pieces of evidence to prove that Mrs Taffee was the criminal and our evidence includes,
-Her finger prints where all over the crime scene
-She was at the crime scene on the day of the crime
-She had a cut on her right wrist
-Her shoe prints matched
-She needs and HDMI cord and uses one regularly
and a few more things.
Here are some photos of the crime scene and some more.

GRAMMAR COP(Jack and Jill)

This week we did a Grammar Cop work sheet.

It was about Jill wanting to write a story about what actually happens when Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.
The instructions were to help Jill fill in the blanks with He or Him because Jill didn't know the difference between the 2.

I think that this activity was super duper fun and I really want to see what next weeks grammar cop sheet will be!

Here is my sheet.

LETTER OF THE WEEK (R)

This week we I did letter of the week.
This weeks letter was R and I think that it was really, really fun.

The easiest part for me would have to be writing the sentence for sure because the sentence doesn't always have to make sense and you can just have some fun with it and my sentence was "Rotten Rachel reeks of relish".

I think that the hardest part was coming up/finding a common noun because when I would search for common nouns it would only come up with the difference between proper nouns and common nouns which wasn't very helpful because I already know the difference.

Overall I think that this was a very fun activity and I cant wait to do next weeks letter!
This is my finished product.

ATHLETICS(November the 3rd)

 Yesterday we had school Athletics.
My favourite event was Long jump because I think that I did the best in that event and I had the most fun.
My least favourite event was the 200 meter sprint because my legs really, really hurt right after and through out the race because the night before I had a sore knee and then because of all of the other events that I did before the 200 meters my ankles hurt a lot.

Overall I think that Athletics was A lot of fun and although I felt really nervous through out the whole day I still had a great time.

FINGERPRINTS(Lifting fingerprints)

Today we have been lifting our fingerprints.
First We had to rub our thumb on our hair so that it would get greasy and then wed put the print on the window, then we had been given a brush that had some normal cornstarch on it and we lightly rubbed the powder on top of the fingerprints and then we got a piece of tape from Mrs Kennedy and we lifted the prints of the window and then so that we could see the prints we put them on some black paper and then we wrote our names on them and we were finished.
This is my piece of paper.

WHETU CRIME(Finger prints)

This week we have been learning about our finger prints and I have learned that there are 3 different main types of finger prints. The Loop, The Whorl and the Arch there are also different types of these finger prints like the accidental loop, The Double loop and the peek arch.
An arch is a finger print where the lines start from one side and trail to the other.
A loop is a finger print that starts on one side of the finger and loops back around to end on the same side that it started on.
A whorl is a finger print where the lines start in the middle and whorl around and around until it hits the edges of you finger.
I had 2 Arches, 3 Loops and 5 whorls.
I have really enjoyed doing this finger printing task and I thought it was really, really fun to identify all of my finger prints.
Over all I think that this activity was a blast and I would DEFINITELY do it again.
This is my sheet and a close up on a few of my finger prints.

WHETU CRIME SCENE (2020)

Yesterday was the first day of term 4, the last term of the school year until 2021.
It was a big shock to all of us waking in to class and seeing so much police tape all over the place. once we where all in class Mrs Kennedy told us what had gone down while we where all out having a vacation. On the weekend before school started Mrs Kennedy went to school to laminate some sheets for our learning but when she got to school she walked over to the classroom to see that the glass door had been cracked and it had blood on it, to Mrs Kennedy's surprise there where foot prints every where and that's when she found more clues like some chocolates that had been placed everywhere and that's when she found an eaten chocolate wrapper so before she got any closer to the scene she rung Mr Fraser and from then to now we have found multiple different clues like Mr Singh's Drivers License and a broken vase along with a spilled mug of an unidentified liquid but we are very sure that it is either tea or coffee.
My group has found out that the shoe size was actually a size 9 but we still have no proof on who it is.
Here are some pictures of what went down.
