My Christmas wrapping paper.

For my third Christmas countdown activity I chose to do the wrapping paper challenge all I had to do was make a wrapping paper that had Christmas tree's on it.
What I did was I made one Christmas tree that was green and I took a screen shot of that then I made it red and took a screen shot, I got a background and kept CTRL C CTRL V ing everything.
Here is what I made.

My special carrot recipe.

  For My second activity I have made two recipe's that you can
 Make for the reindeer in the video . PS Don't make them.
-YOU WILL NEED-
12 Carrot’s-
3 cups of animal friendly flour-

2 teaspoons of sugar-

3 eggs-
1 and a half cups of water-

2 big bowl-

A mixing spoon-
A backing tin-

75 Grams of Melted butter-

Chocolate-

A whisk-

A Sieve-
Baking powder-
A cutting board-

A sharp knife-

2 cups of icing powder-

And last but not least some patients because this recipe is going to take 1 hour to make.
                        -BAKING TIME- 

Step 1:Grab one of you’re mixing bowls and but you’re flour in sieve with you’re sugar and sieve it in to the bowl.

Step 2:Next grab you’re second bowl and put in the eggs and butter than take those thing and slowly pour it in to the other bowl slowly mixing.

Step 3:Next chop up you’re chocolate and half of the carrots and than put all the chocolate in  the the main mixture and add as many diced carrots as you want.

Step 4:Then you put the cake in the oven and make the frosting, all you have to do is get you’re powder and put in as much water as you’d like, the chop up 3 of you’re carrots and put them in the icing and mix. 

Step 5:The last thing that you need to do is get the cake out of the oven, cut the cake to fit nine cups and  you like frost it and cut up the rest of you’re carrots and put the diced carrots on the top side’s.

All you need for this recipe is 

9 carrots 

Water 

9 cups

And 6 carrot flavoured drink.

What you will want to do is put some water in to 1 of the cups

Until it is half way full and the you put some of the carrot juice in the cup until there is just enough pace to put a carrot in the drink.

Christmas countdown:Wreath challenge.

This week we have started the Christmas countdown until school is finished and today I have chosen to do the wreath challenge.
I had to try to create the exact same wreath that was on the doc and I think that I did a good  job and I am  very proud of what I made.
Here it is.

My survival backpack.

For my second task in survivor I made my survival backpack and I put all of the things that I think I would need while surviving in the bush, I have made sure to tell you what I added and I also have put in a reason of why I would need them. This is what I did.

Key tips to bush survival.

 Here are some tips and tricks if you ever have to                                survive in a bush.
                                       S.T.O.P
1.When in a survival situation you need to remember what STOP stands for in a survival situation.
2.STOP can also be known as an acronym.
3.It means Stop, think, observe and plan. 
                              
                             Water source's.
1.You can follow a path where moss is growing and or go down a hill. 
2.To make water clean you need to boil it or you can find some water that is under the sun.
3.It's better to get water from a moving body of water so that there is no moss. 
                                        Shelter.
1.with a shelter you need to remember to place it on a dry plot of land.
2.It should be close but not to close to a body of water. 
3.If you do place it to close then there is a risk that the water might flood all the way over to you're camping gear.


                                                                    Fire
1.With fire making you need to make sure that you're land is dry.
2.You should have flint and steel, matches.
3.you would want to collect dry wood or the fire will go out.
                                       
                               First aid.
1.with first aid you want to at least have some sort of band aid.
2.you can also use selves from shirts.
3.You would want some medicine or alcohol swabs.
                                 
                       Signalling for help.1.Signalling for help can be done in many ways like making smoke or fire
2.can also use a mirror of some sort that can reflect sunlight.3.The last thing you can do is make an S.O.S sign.

Native trees blog.

For the past week and I think that I have been working very hard to earn my gold badge.

2nd Week 5 Chapter Chat.Digital design.

This week for my second Chapter Chat I did a Digital design.
I made four characters from our book Ghost I made Sunny, Lu, Patina and last but not least Ghost I had a lot of fun designing them and I really like how they all turned out.

Week 5 Chapter Chat. Creation station.

This week for Chapter Chat I made Coach Broad's gold medal.
I started with my draft then when I finished it I got a piece of good paper and copied everything on to the other piece of paper. Then I made a few pop out's to finish it off.

Week 4 Chapter Chat. Away with words.

This week for my Chapter Chat I did Away with words.
I made an acrostic poem with Sunny's name. I started of by coming up with all the sentences for each of the letters than I got a piece of paper and wrote everything down on that piece of paper and then I went over with felts and coloured pencils.

Ihipera's knots. Survivor.

This week for survivor I was in the knots group with Mrs.Heaven/Loft and I learnt how to tie a few different knots like the Bow line and the clove hitch and last but not least the figure 8.
The figure 8.
The Figure 8 knot is commonly used for general purposes like when a overhand knot fails and you want to use something a little more fancy but still isn't to hard.
Difficulty level 2/10.
The Bowline.
You would usually used for making a loop around a tree or a pole when you need a perfect loop, it also come in handy when you are out in the woods and you have to make a shelter but all you have is a rope and a tarp.
Difficulty level 6/10.
The clove hitch.
Like the bowline knot this knot is used for tying knots around a pole or a tree of some sort, while in the wilderness it would also be a valuable thing to know how to tie this knot.
Difficulty level 5/10.

Chapter Chat week 3. Creation station.

This week for Chapter Chat I did Creation station and I made a drawing of couch Broady in black and white and gave him a whistle and a black space between the drawing and the page that I glued it on to a piece paper and then I shaded it with a grey marker after that I made a speech bubble that Said "Hi i'm Otis Broady then I added all of the newbies names on the side and then to finish it of I added a few little blobs of colour.

The Moa's Tent tumble.

As you know we have been learning about bush shelters and many facts about them like where is the best place to set up you're bush shelter and what is it protecting you from so today as a troop we worked together to put up a tent. The thing that I found the easiest was probably tying the knot at the top of the tent witch I just tied in to a bow.
The thing that worked the best was having two people on each side of one pole working on sliding it through and slipping the end of the pole in to the little black pocket's at every corner.
The thing that I learnt was that you can't pull out the fold able pole to fast our it will end up breaking.

   

The Moa's Shelter idea's.

The Moa's shelter idea's. Number 1. The Tarp:

we have chosen this one because it looks like it would provide lots of warmth and it seems like it has lots of room. It also looks like it’s very sturdy and that would help us survive the night. The only con is that the ropes might slip down during the night.
  

Number 2. The A-Frame Tarp Shelter:

We have chosen this one because it looks like it would be simple to make and it is nice and easy and it looks like it would keep you safe from the wind and any kind of weather there is. It also looks like it would stay up through really harsh weather making the rope looking like it’s there to stay.

Q.1 Where is the best place to build a shelter?
The best place to build a shelter is On a flat area that's not damp and is preferably close to a body of water for an easy to reach source. Make sure that your shelter isn't to close to a body of water or you have the risk of a wave hitting your shelter.
Q.2 What does the shelter need to protect you from?
What your shelter needs to protect you from varies depending on what's in the Jungle or forest you're camping in, so if you're in the woods with animals then that's what you need to protect yourself from it's the same with bugs or insects.
Q.3 What materials could you use to build a shelter?
You could use many things like trees, Tarps, moon blankets,  

   

Week 2 Chapter Chat.

This week for Chapter Chat I made a research centre and I researched 3 different shoe company's including Nike, Adidas and Fila. I did some research and then I wrote it down in my own words and then I put it o a piece of paper then I got three images and and then I printed them out and then I cut them out and got two little pieces of paper and I made a pop out out of them. I then added some colour and put the logo's under the writing.

This Is my Calendar Art, The idea behind it was one side (The Black and White side) is supposed to be my artsy, creative and neat side witch reminds me of my Mum.
And the colourful side is my favourite anime's like, One punch man, My hero academia,Black clover, one piece, Demon slayer, Naruto and The seven deadly sins. This side reminds me of my Dad because he loves anime and he also enjoys the same anime's as me including the ones that I just listed, he is also very funny and colourful.
On one side I put my face on it and on the other I wanted to make it look cooler so I cut my face in half and made a drippy/gooey side that's white.

Chapter Chat Week 1 Term 4. Digital Design.

This Term for Chapter Chat we are reading a book called Ghost and it's about this boy named Castle's (Ghost's) back story and trying to out run it by working on his Basketball skills while also being on a track team with three other people Lu, Sunny and Patina and there Coach Brody. Ghost doesn't really get the point of training for a big race because it comes naturally to him. Ghost Joins the Track team to get better at running so he can be the fastest and the strongest in Basketball although he doesn't play. Ghost makes a promise to his Mum that if he makes one mistake in school then he's out of the team while Coach Brody's Taxi and Coach give Ghost and his mum his Business card.
For my Chapter Chat I made Coach Brody's Business Card with one side being his coaching side and the other being his Taxi side with some info on both of the sides about the people he trained and the thing they have accomplished, and then for his Taxi side  put some reviews on, I made him a 5 star Taxi driver because in the book it says that "Coaching doesn't pay the rent but this does'' so to have enough money to pay rent from just being a Taxi driver he must be good.

My most exiting day in the holidays.

My favourite day was the day when me and my cousin made Chocolate chip cookies at my grandmas house. My niece also came over without my nephew because he was up north. My niece's name is Rangiparuhi and when we were done I had to look after her and she kept teething on my hair ties. My two cousins also made lemonade for my grandma. My brother and my other cousin (Te marino)had      This is a map of where Ngatea

Week 8/9 Chapter Chat Fabulous finish.

This week for fabulous finish I made a book cover for our book Holes that we finished a couple weeks ago.
The fist thing I did was draw/sketch everything out on the front cover and then I wrote the inside and the back cover of the book.I then went over with a sharpie and outlined everything, The last step was to add colour. 

Week 7 Chapter Chat.(Digital design)

This week for Chapter Chat I made a Digital design of multiple text conversations between characters like Stanley and X-Ray, Mr Sir and the Warden, Stanley and Zero and Mr Pendanski.

Creation station Week 6 Chapter Chat.

This week for Chapter Chat I did a creation station and I drew a picture of the Warden.
So what I did was I started by sketching out my warden and then I went over with my thin sharpie and I outlined my sketch. Then  I got my thick sharpie and a silver sharpie and then I coloured it in. I tried to go for a black and white theme.Then for my finishing touches I added a swirl in the back. I wrote The Warden in a cool font and then glued a black piece of paper to the back.

Vocab challenge Chapter Chat.

This week for Chapter Chat I did vocab challenge and I used all the words like Protruding, Parched EXT. For the flaps I put the meaning of the word under the flap and then when I was finished gluing everything down I coloured it in with blue and pink.

Digital design Chapter Chat.

This week for Chapter Chat I did digital design and I made a wanted poster for Kissin Kate Barlow, so what I did was I got a template and picture of Kate and the poster from then on I just added couple of small things like warnings like what to do if you found her. So this what I did.

Pick'N'Mix Chapter Chat (Research centre)

This week for Chapter Chat I decided to make a family tree of my own. In my family I have a lot of family but I decided to stop at my Grandparents. I thought that I would also add some of my Nieces and Nephews including Te ahokaia, Rangiparuhi and Kuratapirirangi. So this is the family tree I made.

Week 2 chapter chat x2 (Away with words)

This week for my second chapter chat I did away with words and I rewrote Stanley's letter to his mum and I scrunched up the paper and then made an envelope and I rote some things on the envelope like Please help ME!!! and who the letter was to and from and then I shaded the envelope with yellow, gold, brown and orange.
So this is what I made.

Week 2 chapter chat(Digital design)

This week for my chapter chat I did a digital design And I made a nickname for me and I came up with the name Black sheep so here is what I did. Once I put my name on I then started putting some little stars on. Before I show you my chapter chat I want to tell you why I chose this nickname, The reason why I chose this nickname is because I fell like out of the four people in my family I'm the black sheep because I am the only one with a Maori name in my family of four. So this is what I made.

Week 1 chapter chat. Research centre

This week for chapter chat I did a research centre and researched the Rattlesnake. And I learnt a lot of different thing so I wanted to show it so here it is.

I decided to draw three snakes and I put the biggest snake on the top the medium on on the left and then the small snake on the right and then info above the biggest snake.
