FRIDAY WHETU CHALLENGE(Egg Drop Challenge)

For this weeks Friday whetu challenge we had to get in to groups of three and make a contraption that would stop an egg from breaking.I worked with Tamzin and Stephanie.I think that the hardest part for me, personally would have to be coming up with an idea because A we had to try to make something that we think would keep our egg safe, and B we all had to make sure that we where happy with our design.I think that the easiest part was the construction because we had a plan that we where going to follow and along the way it was really really fun and through out the building process wed added some things as a last minuet touch to just make sure that it wouldn't break. We used, A role of tape, 2 Balloons, 1 roll of yarn, a few sheets of newspaper, A sock, scissors and a paper bag that held everything inside of it to make a little bit of a kit like thing. We ended up naming one of our balloons Timoothee Chalamat our other balloon Jeromiglia and our sock Biggie.I think that we did a very good job because our egg was the first egg that didn't crack when wed dropped it!Because of this we named our egg Sir.Not-Cracks-A-Lot but in the end we had to get rid of him along with our creation.
Over all I think that we did very well and I have to say that this challenge now takes place as my favourite Friday whetu challenge.
Here are some of the pictures with us in them with our creation.

LITERACY MYSTERY(The missing treasure)

For this week we had a literacy mystery.
I think that the hardest part for me was the last question because it was like a puzzle and you had to put -un in front of every word and if it didn't make scene then you had to try again.
I think that the easiest part was the 1st question because it was really easy to find the answer.
Here is my sheet.

THE STARS OF MATARIKI(Week 1 T3)

For this weeks literacy challenge we had to make a star out of matariki puzzle pieces. I think that the hardest part for me would have to have been coming up with ideas to put on the little star portions because there where nine of them and we had to sketch them all out ink them and then colour them.
I think that the easiest part for me would 100 be gluing them all on to the sheet because it was really really simple as you could imagine, all I had to do was cut them out and glue them on to a piece of paper.
Anyways I think that this would have to be my favourite literacy challenge that we have done so far.
Here is my star.

WORD OF THE WEEK(Oblivious)

For this weeks word of the week the word was oblivious.
The easiest part for me was actually finding the definition because I already knew what it meant most likely because my Dad always calls me oblivious for not hearing her when he calls out my name.
I think that the hardest part was finding a picture to fit the word because there where so many different amazing pictures made by really, really talented artists but I think that my picture would have to be my favourite.
I really loved doing this word and I have to say for sure that this would be my favourite word of the week.
This is what I did.

MATHS MYSTERY(Code breaker)

For this weeks Maths Mystery Challenge we had to crack multiple codes and I think that it was pretty fun. I think that the hardest part for me would have to be the 3rd slide because although it was pretty easy I accidentally got one of the letters wrong, but I ended up noticing it at the end so I fixed it.
I think that the easiest part was the last slide because it was just + and - so I worked it all out really well, although it was easy I still thought that it was really, really fun and so where all of the other questions.
I think that this would have to be my favourite Maths Mystery because it was a little bit easier then all of the other Maths Mystery.
These are my slides.

MATARIKI(Jigsaw puzzle)

For this week we finally got to cut out all of our Jigsaw puzzle pieces and we even made some more jigsaw pieces.
I think that the hardest part for me during this whole entire jigsaw puzzle making thing for me would have to sticking them all on to the piece of paper that I was given because I kept messing up and gluing them on wonky and then I had to keep on tacking them of and gluing them back on I don't know how much I like it because It was really, really wonky and I had to stick with it because by the tie that I had realised how bad it was they where all ready stuck on to the paper.
I think that the easiest part would be cutting all of the pieces out because A it was pretty fun, and B I thought that cutting out was going to be really bed but when I ended up doing it, it turned out really, really well in my opinion.
Overall I think that this was an okay challenge but I think that I struggled a lot so that might be why I didn't enjoy it too much.
Here is what I made.

TERM 2(Reflection)

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term has to be the Murder Mystery Challenge’s because it was really fun. I got to do something that I have never done before and I got to learn some new working out methods that worked really well.

Something that has challenged me this term has been the Number of the Day. I always end up second guessing myself with all of the answers that I worked out. I am always certain that I got one question wrong, even though it's just me half of the time.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was last week's challenge, it was an Egg Carton Creation Challenge. We had to take an egg carton and make something out of it. I think that this would have to be my favourite because I got to do some experimenting and I ended up making something that I was really, really proud of.

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was the fitness/PE workshop that I had decided to do for a day. I think that I enjoyed it so much because I got to run around and all of the games that we played were really fun.

An aim I have for my learning is to push myself further, instead of saying something like ‘Yup there it is’. I want to be sure that I put all of my effort into my learning,, to aim for supernova! I want to aim for this because one of the things that my Dad has said to me is “I work so that I can keep a roof over my family's head, but also so that I can die knowing that my family is stable''. My Dad is and will forever be my idol.’
