EGG CARTON CREATION(Friday Whetu Challenge)

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.
I think that this task was pretty easy because I had a pretty straight on plan and I knew what I was doing.
I used things like obviously egg cartons, paper, water colour paints, a straw and some hot glue to glue my cute little turkey’s body together.
I started of by cutting out 2 little egg holders straight out of the carton. After that I painted some pieces of paper with the paint that I brought in rainbow colours, after that was done I waited for the paper to dry so that I could cut it out in to little feather shapes. I then coloured some more bits of paper and waited for those to dry again. Finally after all of that was done I cut them out in to little shapes and glued them on to my turkey body.
I really enjoyed this task and I think that I would have to say that this was my favourite Whetu Friday Challenge and over all I think that my work is a supernova because I think that I did a really good job.
Here is what I made.

WORD OF THE WEEK(Week 11)

For this weeks word of the week we had to find out what the word cacophony meant and we had t find out a few other things including some synonyms. I think that the hardest part for me would have to be coming up with a sentence that had the word cacophony in it. I think that the easiest part would have to be nothing because I found everything challenging in a different way. I think that this was a very fun activity and I can't wait to see what will be next weeks word. Overall I rate my work a supernova. This is what I did.

MATARIKI(Writing)

For this week's writing challenge we had to take all the knowledge that we had from our reading challenge and write fill in the blanks on some puzzle pieces.
I started of by taking all of my puzzle pieces (8) and reading through all of the prompts the I wrote all of my answers in from what I thought was the hardest and what was the easiest.
After I was done writing down all of my answers I used a sharpie to make everything look more "Professional" and after that was done I rubbed out all of my pencil lines. I then decided how I was going to colour it and I think that i went with a pretty simple style. After all of those steps where done I grabbed an iPad 2 of my sheets (Which each had 2 puzzle pieces printed on to them) and I took a photo.
These are the sheets that I took photos of.

MATHS MYSTERY(Murder at the movies)

For this week's murder mystery we had to find out who the murderer was. For the maths mystery I worked with Lola. I think that the easiest part for me would have to be clue 1 because I think that we where able to work it out pretty easily with a little trouble. I think that the hardest part would have to be clue 4 because we had a few issues with the answers that we had at the start, but we ended up fixing it.
These are our slides.

BLOG CHALLENGE(My new room)

For this weeks blog challenge we had to ether design our DREAM bedroom or make a new or improved class room and I decided to do my bedroom. I think that the easiest part for me would have to be deciding which one I wanted to do because I have actually wanted to make a new room for so long and this was a great opportunity.
I think that the hardest part for me would have to be that sometimes I wanted to use some things but they sometimes wouldn't work because It would be to big or sometimes it didn't have a transparent background.
I think that this challenge was supper fun and I think that I would have to say it's my favourite activity so far.
This is my room.

MATARIKI(Reading challenge)

For this week's reading challenge we had something a little bit different from synthesis eggs. We had a form that had some questions about matariki since we can't celebrate in school. I think that the hardest part for me would have to be reading through everything carefully because I had a few slips and ended up skipping a line or two.
I also think that the easiest part for me would have to be deciding if the questions that it was asking where true or false because some of the questions where supper obvious like 'Matariki celebrates the legend of Hatupatu the bird women and that is false because matariki celebrates the lose of old family members but also the start of a new farm crop.
I think that this was supper fun and I am really exited to see what will be our 'Hopefully' Brand new never done before challenge.
This is what I did.

FRIDAY WHETU CHALLENGE(Paper air plane's)

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.
Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be really REALLY easy because all you had to do was make a simple Paper air plane. But I was definitely wrong because I later found out that we had to decorate it but It was really hard and my paper air plane didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to.
I decided to use the design of multiple things like flowers in purple and blue, Tapa designs in a green colours. Well the point is I think that my design came together really well because although I used Tapa designs’ I only did flowers so I definitely think that I did well in the design portion.
The hardest part was making the paper air plane in general because I really wish that I had decided to go with my draft plane or at least make a dart paper air plane but I decided to make a Javelin and It turned out all right.
During our competition time I managed to score 0 sadly because I didn't actually make it near the runway but I think that I gave it a really good go and just because I didn't get any points doesn't mean I didn't have fun!

WORD OF THE WEEK(Bewildered)

This week I decided to do word of the week this is how I made it.So first of all I started of by going over all of the questions and deciding in which order to do the questions in.After that I started writing all of my answers underneath the questions. I researched the questions and I Ctrl c Ctrl v the answers on and made sure to make it so that my answers where different enough.I think that the hardest part for me would have to be making sure that I know my answers where different enough from the ones on google.I also think that the easiest part was finding an image of Bewildered because I just had to search it up, I also ended up putting some white moons around the image so that it could match all of the other questions bubbles.
Here is what I did.

MATHS MYSTERY(Week 10)

For this weeks maths Mystery we had to figure out who was the pencil case thief.
I think that the hardest part for me this week was question 3 because it was actually incorrect. It said that if the order was for example 1234 then it was a male and if it was 4321 then it was female but the answer that you would have got would have been 1221 which doesn't give you a gender. I did end up finding out that it was a female.
I think that the easiest part was clue 2 because all we had to do was count how many sharpeners there was and then add on however many you would need to make 20. I also think that this question was a little bit challenging because you had to think a little bit about what you would have to add to actually MAKE 20.
Overall I had a great time doing this activity and I am so exited to see what next weeks maths mystery will be.
Here are my slides.

BLOG CHALLENGE(Birthday card design)

For this weeks blog challenge we had to come up with a new Birthday party card design for Mrs. Coles And Mr.Fraser.
I started of by planing everything out in my book so I planed out the fonts that I was gonna use and the decorations that where gonna be one the card.
Next I asked for a card so that I could figure out how everything would work out on the card. Then I started putting everything on the back of the card.
After all of that was done I took a sharpie to the card and started outlining everything.
Then for one of the last steps I coloured it all in.
After that was done I went I took a photo of it sent the photo to me took a screenshot it and started writing my blog post.

This is what I did!

SYNTHESIS EGGS(Week 10)

For this week's reading challenge we did some more Synthesis eggs.
This was really fun because I got to put some writing into it and I got to learn some super duper cool new facts about White whales. Like for example right now to date (I think) There is only one full white humpback whale that is still living. Pretty interesting right.
I think that the hardest part for me would have to be reading the article for one main reason.
I am not the fastest reader and sometimes I tripped up on sentences and read the same sentence twice!

I think that the easiest part would have to be (And this bit surprised me) Actually taking the text into context instead of just glossing over all of the writing.
Overall I think that this was a very fun activity and I am exited to see what next week's article.

This is what I did.

SICK SENTENCES(Week 10)

I think that the hardest part for me would have to be writing the sentences because it took me a little bit to think of some new words to make the sentences better! I think that the easiest part for me was... Nothing I think that I found everything hard in different ways. Overall I think that this was super duper fun but I really hope that we get a new task next week!

WORD OF THE WEEK(Luminos)

This week I decided to do Word of the week because I had nothing else to do.
I think that the easiest part for me would have to be doing all of the finishing touches mainly because I just had to change a few things to make them fit a theme that I was going for.
I think that the hardest part for me was definitely taking the definition on google and having to put it in my own words because I had a little trouble figuring out if it was different enough.
Overall I think that this activity was very fun and I look forward to doing this again next week if I can!
This is what I did.

SYNTHESIS EGGS(Week 9)

This week for the writing challenge we did Synthesis eggs again.
I thought that the hardest part would have to be reading the article only because I am not the fastest reader ever and I also had some trouble reading some of the words.
I think that the easiest part would have to be right NOW because all I have to do is write a blog post on what was the easiest and what was the hardest!

Ok I am very exited to show my Synthesis egg's writing!

MATHS MYSTERY(The pancake problem)

For this week's Maths Mystery there was someone who owned a Pancake store and one day the owner through a pancake party for a little boy... But disaster had struck because somewhere in the party when everyone was having fun at the pancake party some one had taken out 1 or more bites of every pancake. It was then my job to figure out who had stolen the pancake's.
I think that the hardest part for me had to be working out the questions because although I am almost positive that I got the answer right it was hard getting to a conclusions.
I think that the easiest part of it would have to be writing down the answer's because all I had to do was look at what I had worked out and write that down.

These are my slides.

SICK SENTENCES(Week 9)

This week for the writing challenge we did another photo for sick sentences.
I think that the hardest part for me would have to be thinking of some adjectives to use for the photos because you really have to think hard before you write it down.
The easiest part for me would have to be fixing the sick sentences because all I had to do was read the sentence and then put in some better words.
I think that this was a really fun activity and it was nice to take some time to just get down and start writing.
These are my slides.

IHIPERA'S BLOG CHALLENGE(Me in 10 years)

This week for the blog challenge we had to fill in a form type thing on what we think we are going to be like in 10 years from now AKA 2030.
I started of by reading all the questions and then thinking off my answers then I wrote all of them down.
The hardest part for me was answering the question "What places will you have gone in 10 years time" Because I might change where I wanna go in a few years time like I might want to go to Iran in a few years but I'll never know until then.
I think that the easy part for me was writing down how old i'll be in 10 years because right now i'm 10 and 10+10=20.
I had a lot of fun doing this task and I can't wait for next weeks challenge.
Here is what I did.

TENNIS BALL CHALLENGE(Friday Whetu Challenge)

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).
Today I worked with Jolie and Stephanie.
We didn’t really have any trouble because we worked together really well, I think this worked really well because we’re  all good friends.
The easiest thing was planning because we all had some really good ideas that worked well together.
The best part of our tower was the little compartment that held the tennis ball because it was a pretty smart idea and it worked really well.
Our tower looked very very short because we had taken two bits of newspaper and then we folded them in half to make them more sturdy. We made 4 legs with this method.
In the end it turned out pretty good in my opinion but that is just my opinion. I thought that this was a super fun activity and I am proud to present our creation.

MATHS MYSTERY( The Naughty Gnome)

For this weeks maths challenge we had to figure out who was being the Naughty Gnome.
  1. The Hardest part for me I think would have to be understanding some of the clues because sometimes they took a little while to go in.
  2. The Easiest part was probably writing down all of my answers because I had already worked out all of the answers to the questions.
  3. I had a lot of fun doing this because while some of the questions where hard I got to learn something new.
  4. These are my slide's

SICK SENTENCES(Blog Writing)

This week for the Writing challenge we had to make some Sick Sentences.
Everyone starts off with a pair of slides that you have to work off of. The first slide includes the instructions that you have to follow. The next slide you have to think of a bunch of different nouns. Nouns are naming words and for example you could write. Fish or Water. The next page you have to think off a lot of different adjective's that are also known a describing words.

And finally on the last slide you get some sentences that are "Sick" and you have to try and help then and make them Sick!
Here are my Slides

SYNTHESIS EGGS>(DOGO NEWS ARTICLE)

This week for our writing challenge we had to write some Synthesis eggs on some dinosaurs.
I started by writing what I new down on the first egg then I took some time to read the article to go with it.
After I was done I filled in the last two eggs.
Here is what I made.

Blog Challenge.(ALL ABOUT PENNY)

This week for the blog challenge we had to do a technical form on our pet/s and I decided to do it on my first dog Penny.
First I started of by answering all the questions then I put in a photo. After that I made some finale touches like changing the font some colours of text box's and the frame's colour.
This is what I did.

CASE CLOSED (Finishing our CSI case)

Today we solved the crime on who stole our HDMI cable and 18 milky ways! Who-We asked Mrs  Taffee to come in to class so that we could show...
